Raj was very old and thin. He seemed to be in pain and ready to transition, but his family wanted to be sure, so they called me for a reading. Looking at his picture he seemed to be wasting away and I was sure he would be asking to be let go. To my surprise when I spoke with him, he described his love for his family and the energy in the house as sheer heaven.
Raj said he was drawing near, but one last day, or even a few more minutes in their care was worth staying for. He begged me to tell his parents that he was not ready to go. He said he was not suffering and he needed more time with them. He assured them that when he does start feeling like he was suffering he would let them know, but for now he wanted to lay on the bed and cuddle, he wanted to feel the love of the household, and he wanted to be held in their arms.
Raj had a special message for his mom and dad. He said to stop crying and suffering. He said that his life was picture perfect from beginning to end. He was loved, safe, cared for, and when there are so many animals who suffer, he had the best of everything. He told me to tell them that he lived a wonderful, long life and there was nothing sad about it at all. He wanted them to celebrate their time left with him and relive happy memories, spend time together smiling and grateful for a long goodbye, and be joyous. He assured them that he was not suffering and implored them to stop suffering unnecessarily.
Because this family was able to hear Raj and his wishes, they were able to happily enjoy several more weeks together, celebrate their wonderful love affair and feel grateful to have had each other.
